Mohammed Margaoui is the founder of Defmar in 1975. Back then, he was appointed upon formal request of the International Group, as P&I club correspondent forall Moroccan ports.
Graduated in law at the university of Paris 2 Pantheon Sorbonne, M. Margaoui have had a long and wealth career in the maritime public administration.
He was theDirector of Moroccan Merchant Marine from 1994 to 2000 and then, the General Secretary ofMinistry of Transport of Morocco from 2000 to 2007.
Previously, he was legal director and then commercial director of COMANAV (the previous national shipping company) before working in Geneva for UNCTAD as legal officer.
Throughout his carrier, M. Margaoui was actively involved in the promotion of maritime arbitration.
He was thus appointed as Maritime Arbitrator of the Mediterranean Chamber of Arbitration ofGenoa and of the Monaco Maritime Arbitration Chamber. He also contributed tothe creation of the Moroccan Arbitration Chamber.
Following his public career, he assumed again since 2007 the presidency of Defmar.
